Come walk the historic streets of Salem, meaning "peace" located in southern New Jersey, minutes from Philadelphia and Wilimington Delaware–established as a town and colony in 1675 by Quaker John Fenwick. Shortly after, 1682, the Port of Salem was designated by the British Crown and water trade began. In 1735 the Old Salem County Courthouse was built and is the oldest active in NJ and second-oldest courthouse in the U.S. today.
